In 2013, Linda decided to change her career from bookkeeping and accounting to do something fun: open up Yarn and Sew On! Partnering with her husband, Ron, we opened a brick and mortar quilt shop in Burns Lake. As a longtime crafter she wanted to provide high quality products that previously couldn't be found in Burns Lake. In some cases, Linda notes, people had to travel over 100km to find what they were looking for, and she is pleased to be able to meet those needs much closer to home now.
Linda enjoys living in the Burns Lake area and loves that living in a small town means being able to enjoy a friendly atmosphere. She is happy that she has been able to start working for herself and do something she is passionate about. When she's not in her shop, Linda enjoys playing golf and camping in the great outdoors. She believes that if you do your best the best will come to you.
The business has grown in the last seven years to supply quilters and knitters, with quality fabrc and notions, from Prince George to Terrace and all small towns in between. As well we have professional quilt instructors visit to do classes on different quilting techniques. Linda personally offers classes on learning to knit and crochet. The Long Arm quilting machine is also available to quilters to rent, who want to quilt their own quilts.
If you want to learn a quilting technique we could arrange for a class to learn.
Mission statements – Teaching the art of quilting and knitting to all who have a desire to learn this craft.
